This is a very good site on the aces of WWII. It has a lot of interesting articles on WWII pilots from Germany, USSR, Poland, Finland, USA, Britain, Italy, Spain, Hungary and others. There are also articles written by me about some of the Romanian aces.

 

WWII Memories

This site has an interesting collection of interviews with WWII beteran airmen and lots of other information about various WWII air forces.

 

The Great Planes

This site offers information about the airplanes (164!), air battles and pilots from World War I to the Isreali-Arab and Vietnam Wars. It has also a very long ace list a good aviation forum. There of course are tons of interesting aviation links.

 

This is the site of aviation historian Dénes Bernád. It has intersting info on the lesser known airforces of Central and Eastern Europe (ARR, MKLH and others), but also on the Luftwaffe. Add the Dénes Bernád's impressive photo colection and a forum where he personally replies to many questions and you will find one of the best WWII aviation history sites.

 

WW2 Warbirds

Frans Bonné, the webmaster, has embarked on a very long and difficult task: he wants to present ALL the airplanes used during WWII, not only the glamorous ones, but also the lesser known ones. He promisses to include also recce, transport, liaison and training aircraft not only fighters or bombers. The articles are very detailed and have good photos.

 

Biplane Fighter Aces from the Second World War

This is one the best WWII aviation sites on the web (the over 100,000 visitors so far says it all!). There is plenty of info on the pilots and aces from all air forces that used biplanes in WWII and, of course, on the biplanes. There is also a section on Sweedish volunteer pilots in other air forces.

 

This site has a lot of information and nice coloured profiles of many airplanes that fought in WWII, not only from the major powers, but also from smaller nations like Romania, Yugoslavia, Poland or Czechoslovakia.

 

Canadian Air Aces and Heroes

This site contains 16 biographies of Canadian WWI, WWII and Korean War aces, as well as information about airplanes they flew and medals they received, plus many more.

 

Bulgarian Military Aviation

All you want to know about the Bulgarian air force from the first recorded use of an airplane as a bomber, which was done by the BAF, to present days. It contains data on the airplanes, the air battles of the Balkan Wars, WWI and WWII, the US aircraft with which the BAF fought in the last world war, Bulgarian markings and of course Bulgarian pilots and aircraft engineers.

 

Deltawing - Romanian Air Force Connection

This is a site about the present day Romanian Air Force. It offers interesting information about the airplanes, units and history.

This site offers pictures and details about the surviving Axis (German, Italian, Finnish, Romanian and Japanese) aircraft and replicas in the museums around the world.

The site of the Romanian Modelism International magazine and publishing house. They offer a lot of interesting material for aviation enthusiasts and modelers. They accept credit cards.

 

OTHER WWII LINKS

 

Marcus Wendel's Third Reich Factbook is one of the most comprehensive Axis sites on the Web. You can find there pratically everything you want to know about Germany and also about its allies. The only thing gretater than the site is its forum, which has A LOT of traffic and interesting discussions.

 

Warlinks has, as its name states, a very large collection of WWII-related links, especially about the Commonwealth forces.

 

World War II Armed Forces, Orders of Battle and Organizations

Dr. Leo Niehorster's site is contains very detailed information on the order of battle and organization of different armies in WWII. It also has a very large links section.

 

Armies!

This site is dedicated to the European Armed Forces between 1920-1950. It has a biography section, an article section (on the more obscure campaigns and wars of the period), order of battles and of course a forum.
