Here is a nice 3rd class 1941. Has chips in the enamel and wear to the ribbon. I have the 3rd class case as well.

Yes it is. That is mine. I am Charles Caudle.

I have been collecting for some 25 years. It all started with Third Reich then moved out into other countries and then other wars. I'll post the reverse of the badge as well.

From eBay: The award certificate and the badge of the Order of Michael the Brave belonging to Capt. Gheorghe Frumuşanu of the 33rd Dorobanţi Regiment. It was mentioned that they have been damaged by fire during a bombardment in March or April 1944.

The text on the award certificate is given below. The words in square brackets are the most probable replacements for the damaged part of the document.

QUOTE
Wishing to reward the merits of Captain Frumuşanu Gheorghe of the 33rd Dorobanţi Regiment for the courage and gallantry shown on the battlefield.

As the Commander of 8th Machine-gun Company he thus organised the place of his company [that in the period] 27 February - 14 March 1942 he caused considerable losses to the enemy and all the [attacking] Bolshevik waves could not budge him a single step. Gallant and brave, through his personal example he encouraged his machine-gunners and even though they were attacked from all sides, nobody [budged] from his place.
In the afternoon of 14 March 1942, he was badly wounded and being evacuated to the hospital, had both his legs amputated.

We award him the Military Order of Michael the Brave third class.

We should give credit to the original document.

What I meant to ask was whether this is indeed the real award certificate (given the differences in spelling the name of the officer). On the other hand, both the unit and the date of the award in the list match those on the certificate above.
