Mr. Cristoloveanu, what you really don't understand from my post quoted by you was that I expressed my doubts on C-2 supposition that you probably don't know English. I quoted your post saying that you discussed with an US colonel. That's all. Also if you don't mind, how old are you? Edited for typo: yur=your This post has been edited by Dani on September 23, 2005 12:45 pm |

Mr. Cristoloveanu, please find herewith my fourth post on your thread. You said
If I made any proof of professional probity (!!!) (professional probity reffering to what?) please show me that. Also for the "malice displayed" by me, I'm waiting for you to show where it was. If you didn't speak about me, posting "by some of your contributors" please name them specifically. Also I feel insulted by your request. What is the intention of this thread? Previously you expressed your upset that the JU-88 displayed in Daytona are still in US custody instead of "returning" to Romania. After few days you just edited your posts. Users who had posted in this thread knows what is about, but if that US colonel (!) or any other world user will come to this amputed thread what will understand?? Rather than posting emotionally or impulsive, think twice, fellow! If you care about Romania and Romania's history please show that! |

No offense, but if you think that the americans would ever give us the Ju88 they have in their museum (in perfect condition) for a twisted, rusty half of Sherman chasis or any other "parts" you might have, you're day dreaming. It's just a joke I realise that, but nevertheless it's an idea.
Maybe someone will sometime fix that Sherman, so that way we will have something of theirs. (somebody already said that already, i think, my apologies ) |

This quote is as an introduction, to point to what post and what author I am referring to...
With this I very much agree. In no way the Germans were better in propeller driven bombers in 1943, compared with the Britons and the Americans. I would dare to say they weren't as good as their enemies.
With this I do not agree. In the moment of that defection, the Allies already had just one operational Ju-88, if I remember right. I am not sure if they really had even that one, in the moment the Romanian pilot chose to do what he did. Well, if we extend the subject to wreckages, scrap material and what else remains after a Ju-88 drops in flames from sky, this is a different story... There was much discussion here about returning that Ju-88 to Romania, because once upon a time it was paid and thus obtained by that Romanian government.
I consider that if we are to make a list of objects rightfully belonging to Romania and actually kept in other countries, there are many other priorities. I can give some examples on the spot, but I do not want to drift the subject that started around this Ju-88. This post has been edited by Florin on January 27, 2006 04:56 pm |

The airplane can be very well considered war booty. It is part of the practice of war to not return captured materials to the defeated enemy. The airplane does no longer belong to the Romanian state.
