Does anyone know if a Kubelwagen type 82 still exists in Romania?
I learned that for WW2 pictures, the producers hired this kind of cars from our neighbour countries: Bulgaria, Croatia (for “Amen”) or used the modern Wolkswagen type 181, as it happened in “Train de Vie”. I remember that, at the end of 1970’s I’ve seen a Kubelwagen type 82 in a street of Bucharest. What was its fate? |

I'm sure it was a real WW2 Kubelwagen. I remember I was in a bus near Academia Militara, about 1977-78. The car was droven by a guy and was near my bus for almost 1 minute, then turned to another street. Maybe it was not a Romanian car and it was brought only for a movie. I can't remember the registrated plates. A Kubelwagen type 82 was used in the movie "Stejar, extrema urgenta", produced in 1973-74. Was that a romanian car? |

I have seen this Kubelwagen in August this year, in the parking lot of the Sinaia railstation. I couldn't get closer for a better photo, because of the security guards. There was a Italian movie being filmed in Sinaia and they had rented the parking lot for their trucks. I think though that they brought this Kubelwagen with them from Italy.

There are two kubel’s, and other cars.
But very interesting is the absence of the front Notek camouflage light on the first kubel. Might it be a high quality repro? |

I think it was this car, sorry is in Germany since 1992. In Amin was an original car + a copy, I'll post pictures soon, I rent some historic cars at that movie . Two 181 is all that we have in Romania at this moment , and a replica on a Trabant platform ....

I think it's the trabant based repro seen in "Noi cei din linia intai".

A repro is easy to make.
All you need is an old VW Beattle. |
