On 22 June 1941, the brigade had 232 officers, 225 NCOs and 5,613 soldiers. They were equipped with 5,610 rifles, 147 ZB-30 LMGs, 44 HMGs, 10 mortars and 90 artillery pieces (this large number is strange - possibly a mistake). For transportation it had 4,248 horses, 351 horse-drawn carts and 170 motorized vehicles.

On 15 March 1942, it was reorganized and transformed into the 6th Cavalry Division.
