War episode:

On 4 October 1943, lt. av. Georgescu was commanding the Ju-88A4 no.130, flown by slt. av. Victor Toma. They were part of an 8 aircraft formation from the 5th Bomber Group, which had the mission to bomb Soviet artillery positions near Waldorf. The AAA barrage was very strong, but Romanian bombers managed to drop their load on the target and get away without losses. On the way back, they were attacked by 6 Yak-7s. During the following battle, lt. av. Emil Georgescu, smtr. cl. a 2-a Nicolae Serea and serg. Iacob Ivanov shot down one of the Soviet fighters.

Imi pare rau dar domnul IVANOV IACOB nu a fost pilot.A facut parte din personalul navigant ca mitralior.A facut razboiul ca mitralior pe avioanele IAR-39,JU-52 si JU-88.

Am observat ca aveti ceva date despre armata romana in al doilea razboi mondial.Vream sa adaug ca pe pilotul de avion Ju-88 Iacob Ivanov l-am descoperit citind un ziar local care il descria ca pe un erou si ai prezenta perioada mizera prin care trece la cei 95 de ani,traind intr-o cosmelie singur si fara ajutor.Am avut dorinta sa-l cunosc personal si asa am fost la bordeiul lui din Vaslui si a inceput sa deapane amintiri,mi-a spus ca a fost pilot de bombardier si ca chiar la transportat si pe maresalul Goering al Germaniei.
Este pacat sa vedem cateodata eroi care au luptat pentru viitorul nostru,zbatanduse singuri la o asemenea varsta fara sprijin!
