An article in the August 2000 issue of Magazin istoric mentioned that this crypt was initially destined to house the remains of general Constantin Christescu, the commander of the Romanian 1st Army until 30 July 1917: http://www.itcnet.ro/history/archive/mi2000/current8/mi42.htm.
