This forum is organized on the following principle: each topic represents one chapter of the book. Further chapters will be added. All topics are opened to comments and debates. Given the nature of the forum, it is impossible to display the topics in the order of chapters, therefor each chapter title is preceded by a number that indicates its postion in the book.

Please post your non chapter-related messages here.

What's the use of publishing this book here? It's full of nationalistic verbal diarrhoea. See my reaction to chapter 57, which BTW is a free colourblindness test biggrin.gif

(Key: if you're equally apalled by both the original and my "reverse" version, you're OK. If you're not, you are unfortunately a nationalist to either side)

Najroda, the book is posted for those interested. If you are not interested, you can ignore it.

This forum is dedicated to that book, or another books may be added in future? If yes, "we" can propose another books? Because this one don't get flames, just sporadics reply.
It is a good book, but why the only one?

We can't publish entire books randomly because, of course, the laws do not allow us to do so.

There are still many chapters of the current book to be added, I hope to add more soon.

Where can I purchase this book from - and how much does it cost ?

Oops, Dragos, looks like I posted my previous message under the wrong topic. Sorry about that!

And still, maybe you could kindly answer my question? You won't believe how little information about Romania there is abroad! Every scrap of info is welcome.

Thanks!

Roone

I have seen one available at the "Noi" bookstore, right near the entrance - 40 RON.

Dragos,

Who were the authors? Might have found the book online but need authors.

Posted by: Victor January 14, 2006 07:43 am
There were many. At the beginning of every chapter it is mentioned who wrote it.

Reason I am asking is found this book on Amazon.com

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0880334436/qid=1137242131/sr=1-1/ref=sr_1_1/104-5808395-0091127?s=books&v=glance&n=283155

So would this be it? No pic of it though.

If you look inside it:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/reader/0880334436/ref=sib_dp_pt/104-7244860-3828763#reader-page

you will see it is not the same with the title Dragos mentions in the first post of this thread.

The contents are also different.

take care

Ok but the only way to get the book Dragos is talking about is to contact Sylvi Publishing House directly and hope they know where to get it or have some left in stock, etc.

The book from Columbia University doesn't look bad as well.

That is another book, indeed. The Romanian version was published in 1999. Interesting and with much non-military related information. Don't expect to find serious account of the operations or equipment of the Romanian Army inside it, though. It focuses more on the politics and the economy, as well as the deportations to Trans-Dnestra.

And from the same author, Petre Otu, the published variant of his PHD thesis, "Îmbrăţişarea anacondei. Politica militară a României în perioada 1 septembrie 1939 - 22 iunie 1941". Even if it stops at the moment of the beginning biggrin.gif, the book is a "must" for those who seek to understand the actions of the Romanian Army on the Eastern front.
