Adj. stag. av. Eugen (Evghenie) Camencianu was an 'ace' fighter pilot with 7 confirmed and 3 unconfirmed 'kills' (amounting to at least 14 ARR victories). He flew 73 combat sorties in the 1941 campaign. KIFA on 5 October 1942. Gen. Dénes |

Thank you Denes, I already have this info. I need info on the downed planes, and as such. I have a small archive of about 80 fotos and documents, and I am struggling to ID pilots, planes, etc. Timeframe - from 1938 to 1942 (his funeral is shown in photos, with comrades) Therefore, any additional info will be greatly appreciated. At the funeral of Camecianu should be mostly pilots from 53 sq. The first from right is posible Pomut, the second is for sure Bazu Cantacuzino, the third is Dicezare (with italian eagle badge), the fourth most probably Lt Horea Agarici. |

Because you didn't mentioned from the first post i made a confusion with Camencianu funerals. ![]() So we have to indentify who were with the "Michael the Brave" comrades beside Bazu Cantacuzino and Ion Dicezare. ![]() PS: You should forward a copy to "Fundatia Erou Capitan aviator Alexandru Serbanescu" (President Eleonora Arbanas), they will appreciate. |

Very nice picture. In the back of Camencianu is a Hurricane fin. He had german and italian pilot badges and he drive a Hurricane ![]() Some info about Camencianu war exploit from 53 sq: On 8 July '41, Hurricane pilot Adj. stag. av. Evghenie Eugen Camenceanu was credited with two "Martin" bombers ( most probably DB-3F) shot down at 17.35 hour. The first fell in to Razelm lake, and the second crashed near Nalbant, |

I don't know much, all i know is he was a fighter pilot he participated in the battle at Stalingrad and in the defence of the oil fields of Ploiesti. He was present when the allies attacked the fields with the 1000+ bombers in 1944 i think that was... |

I checked some more lists and found no trace of him. I also asked a well-informed colleague, who also checked the list with military pilot's licenc holders and found nothing. Therefore, unless proven otherwise, the person you named wasn't a military pilot, or his name was misspelled. Gen. Dénes |
