Hello everyone!

I am new to this forum but I hope that I have placed this topic in the right place.
A while ago I purchased a photo from a Romanian officer.
On the photo he is wearing:

-The Order of the Crown.
-The Order of the Star of Romania.
-The World War I Commemorative Cross (with three clasps)
-The World War I Victory Medal.

According to the backside of the photo the officer's name is P. Cristescu.
Is there anymore information about this man?
Even a first name would help me very much! laugh.gif
Below is the phto and the backside of it.

Greetings,

Koen.

The text says that he was a Major and the Deputy Chief of Staff of the 8th Division (no specialty given) in 1936.
The divisions are listed here http://www.worldwar2.ro/oob/?section=7

The collar patches indicate that he was a Mountain Ranger [Vanator de Munte].

So?

We do not know whether D-Dutch knows the specialty of this officer. He asked for as much info as possible. I thought he may need to know that he was a Mountain ranger. Did I do something wrong? blink.gif

Unfortunatly I know notthing more about this man than what is written on this photo! So thank you for the information that he was a Mountain Ranger! wink.gif
And also thanks for the other information that was given!
Is it possible to find out the first name of this man?

Greetings,

Koen.

Yes, but you have to find someone with the Royal Officers' roster for 1936-1937.

I thought you were implying that it was the 8th Mountain Division, which obviously was not the case. My mistake then.

The 8th Infantry Division had in its recruitment area two vanatori regiments, which also wore green patches like the vanatori de munte (mountain troops). He could have been a vanatori officer also.
