Looking for information on Lt. Nikolai Teodor (or Feodor) who flew a Ju-88 to Cypress in July, 1943 and, when interogated, initially said Ploesti was lightly defended and then changed his story and said it was very heavily defended.

I am also interested in the personal stories of those who were on the ground during the Auugust 1, 1943 raid on Ploesti, or who had personal contact with American prisoners after the raid, or who flew against them during the raid.

Thank you,

Mahler

His name was Serg. maj. av. Nicolae Teodoru and he defected to Cyprus on July 22, 1943.

Do a search for his name on this forum and you'll find three pertinent threads:

I very much appreciate your prompt and informative reply to my query about the man who defected to Cyprus in July, 1943.

Does "Serg. maj. av." indicate the rank "Sergeant Major of Aviation"?

Thank you very much for your help,

Mahler

Almost. Av. means 'aviator'. The rest is O.K.
