Gents,

Just a very quick glimpse - this just sold today (and very fast I might add) on Detlev's site.

I never saw this badge before, and another thing - awarded to a german U-Bootsman.

Credits for the pics - Detlev Niemann's site.

Just to show how rare things are popping out from time to time.

Cheers,

Al

The price for the lot was EUR 1,000.

And yes, the Romanian Urkunde is not for the U-Boot badge - my mistake (I was a bit tired yesterday evening).

Nonetheless, a very rare group.

Cheers,

Al

Hallo Gents,biggrin.gif

The document typed in German and addressed to a German U-Boat member is basically telling him why he is getting a Romanian U-Boat badge, which is normally worn by Romanian U-Boat personnel, it explains this is a traditions badge and given in "Waffenbrüderschaft" which translates loosely to "Military Friendship"
it also thanks him for all his help in bringing the Romanian U-boat into readiness for use.

My translation is literal and a more proficient German speaker probably could give a better translation.

In all a rare group which appears to have sold for a low price.

it's huge prices!
But this lot or grope is very interested one.
Because German U-boat acctive in Black sea is only thre in 1942.
it is U9,U19,U24.
IN 1943,the list eas enforced by arrive of three U-boats U18,U20,U23.
THis six U-boats reforme 30th escadolia of U-boat.it's only a escadolia of U-boat.

MIhai.
