Each of the items could or could not be authentic. And even if they are both authentic, the combination could or could not be authentic. Hard to say without images. |

Normaly,in this combination,I saw only the the Crown Order! I know that the Ordinul Mihai Viteazul was manufactured in Romania and a few pieces in Russia. I don't know wich classes and how many from them have been made in Russia till the October Revolution! If your question regards the originality from this combination, I would say... it could be.....! Why not! They have used other boxes from the stock! Regarding the order and the box... post some scans! |

Some Romanian orders were made in France as well as in Austria. The period box sounds correct. France supplied Romania with many uniforms and uniform parts during the late 1920's and early 1930's. There were also a few WW1 French recipients of the order. This could have been made for one of them. |

Check http://www.antiquesandmilitaria.com/Romania.html The fourth medal - Order of the Crown - It is written:Gilt bronze cross with original case of issue by G. Lemaitre, Paris. Typical French manufacturing with thin crown and very good details. End quote. As Regal Uniforma Collector stated (http://www.worldwar2.ro/forum/index.php?showtopic=1524&view=findpost&p=43098) France jewellers manufactured some medals (and the casing too). |
Posted by: Ahile November 30, 2005 04:03 pm |
I understand that he was a jeweler, but he was the first to make copyes, replica of the medals from the 20's. Or he has like Joseph Resch?A original maker. Ahile |
Posted by: Ahile November 30, 2005 04:07 pm |
Why he made the Order of Michael the Brave? |
Posted by: dragos03 November 30, 2005 04:23 pm |
He was an official manufacturer. As others tried to explain, Romanian awards were manufactured also in France, Austria or Germany. |
Posted by: Ahile November 30, 2005 04:27 pm |
OK. And it is possible he had made the Order of Michael the Brave class III 1916? Do you know trickes to identify the real ones from the fakes. Ahile |

It depends on the model. Which one do you have in mind? |

3 rd class of the 1941 ahile |
Posted by: Carol I July 24, 2006 03:23 pm | ||
That model had translucent dark blue enamel. Take a look in http://www.worldwar2.ro/forum/index.php?showtopic=3055 for genuine badges (but allow for differences due to colour rendering). |
