Here's a superb silver hallmarked "The Eagle of Romania Honorary Sign" (for members of Parliament).

I think that the Ferdinand case is not from this Order! The Honour Sign from the Romanian Eagle was instituted 1933 by Carol2

You are correct-the commander came in that case and I didn't make the connection to the date and that it was an incorrect case. Thanks for pointing that out!

Note : One dealer in Bucharet is making fakes of this order. Cast, then polished, then gold gilted. The center shield is made from a high quality color copier and then a hard plastic surface is then applied over the shield. Looks like the real thing. However, you can take your finger nail, scratch and leave a dented impression over the surface of the enamel shield indicating that the surface is soft and something other than hard baked enamel. Very difficult to detect fakes of this order unless you have seen original pieces. They are very well made.

For the first copies he used original shields.A friend sold him 5 original shields!
The copies are also marked with the old Resh hallmarks!

It would become bad policy if this Forum were to start naming dealers and collectors for every fake that comes on the market. We would have no more dealers in which to buy our medals from. I can only critique and identify fakes as they come onto the market so that you are better informed as a collector and can better identify these pieces.
