Can anybody tell me who would have been issued this item?

A short length, heavy jacket, thin red stripe on the arms, 4 buttons, no sign of any shoulder boards for rank ever being fixed to the shoulders.
Maker Label:- C. Bacau.

Inside pocket inked stamped stamped:- 1979.

Hi ,
I C Bacau came from INTREPRINDEREA DE CONFECTII BACAU , named today DAN INTERNATIONAL and before that SC ASCO BACAU SA.
I'll try to find someone working there for more informations about the coat.
As far as I remember the red color from the stripe is the red color used by the medical corps in the Romanian Army before 1989.
I-ll keep you inform.

The stamp has been issued by the manufacturer (Confectia Bacau ) after the quality control and it contain the order , the year , the size , the manufacturer and the standard used (NID....).
I have sent yours photos to Bacau for more info. smile.gif

There is the answer from Bacau:
The label above the pocket was the manufacturer trade mark for the romanian market , for export they used a different type of label.
The inked stamp has been issued by the manufacturer and was used only for garments made for the romanian army (in that case )
-the upside down number (not inside the border) represent the number of the garment
-then was the name of the factory
-Lot No. represent the order number
-TALIA II GROS 50 represent the size of the jacket
-ANUL CONF. represent the year when the jacket was made-1979
-N.I.D. -NORME INTERNE DEPARTAMENTALE that number has to be issued only for garments made for the romanian army- in that case .
Any complaining regarding the jacket must contain those numbers in order that the complain can go directly to the manufacturer.
At the time when your jacket was made , half of the factory production was made for the army.
They confirmed that that jacket is an original one.
All my best

The same tipe of winter short coat ,but without red stripe, was worn by "trupele de securitate".They also wear skiing boots, called " VM-uri" (abreviation from " vanatori de munte").Unfortunately, i don't have pictures wearing the winter coat.

As I can see, the internal doublage is silky, so it was for officiers, sub-officiers or mil. students. The strip seems to be purple, not red. That was the medical corp, but I don't remember how the fireman corp was. About missing shoulder slides ??? that was unusual.
