Hello! Present to you M. 1889 artillery dagger found in the Romanian position battle at Odessa. Blade is well preserved, but there are a stamp on it. There remains room for guard. Is it possible to determine by whom and in what period released this instance? Regards Rixard.

No, we cannot say who was issued this dagger to, the serial number is just a inventory number, not specific to a certain unit.

But the dagger was probably issued to a artillery servant or second line soldier that was not issued with a long rifle equipped with a bayonet. Maybe an engineer.

Nice find, the shrapnel damage is also very nice.
