i belive that the rifles are kar 98's and i'm for sure that the sub-mg's are PPSH-41 with box magazines. best regards, |

They are 7.62 mm PPSh M1941 http://www.rt66.com/~korteng/SmallArms/ppsh41.html http://world.guns.ru/smg/smg02-e.htm http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PPSH_41 Also mentioned here: http://www.worldwar2.ro/arme/?article=768 HTH Radu Later edit... they appear to be PPSh M1941 with the "banana" magazine from the PPSh M1943 |

Kevin, thanks for sharing the pictures. It's great to see the regimental flags in a period photo! |

The shape of the bolt handle(not bended) , lead me to Vz 24 , rather then kar98 |

Yes it's a Vz24 what was left from ww2 arsenal, because the bolt is straight not bent like the K98 mauser. Thanks |

Just as academic info, there were some VZ24 (or so called ZB rifles) which had the bolt bent like the one from K98. This kind of bended bolt ZB were use as sniper rifles, the bolt being bent to allow the scope to be put on the rifle. I saw one kind of this type of ZB at Military Museum from Oradea. |
