Hi !
I post it here because it seems I did it in a wrong place before ! I'm actually building a 1/24 scale Bf109 G2, the well known "wihte 7" of the 7 th FG at Ottopeni (Bucarest) in 1944. This plane is very particular because of it's winter sheme camouflage. All details on this plane let me think it was orignaly a "trop" (air intake fixation holes and umbrella fixation parts). I have a "problem" with the camouflage colors only. Fuselage and wings are very dark, from nose to tail. My question is simple : does anybody have informations or document about the color sheme ? Was the plane quite completely oversprayed with a dark grey (Rlm 74 ?) or re-painted with another new color ?(dark green or another dark grey) BW pictures analysis cannot show a difference between a dark grey or, why not, a dark green ?I just found in a book (the last Jagwaffe # 4/4) confirmation about use in luftwaffe in 1944 of the overspraying of Rlm 74/75/76 with a dark green. Thanks for your help ! Marc. |

There is no document or oficial informations for the color of this particular plane, but from the B/W photo the camouflage could be RLM 74/75/76 oversprayed with darkgreen patches on the wings and the fuselage.
The german standard camouflage ( RLM 74/75/76 ) was often overpainted with green more or less on romanian Bf-109 G used on estern front. Also after a complete revision in romanian workshops ( ASAM) the Bf-109G were oversprayed with dark green patches. As for " the winter scheme camouflage" I don't think you can name it for this particular plane "white seven". |
