What will they reenact? The Independance War? I visited the Museum recently, on april 15-th, but I barely had an hour and a half before closing time, so I should be back again - but I guess only in June I'll return to Bucharest. Too darn bad! sad.gif

It's more a living history event, multi period from 1866-1947. I don't know 100% what all the participants will be but A6D will be reenacting 1866 Graniceri but our artillery unit will be in 1877 uniforms, There will also be soldiers in WWI uniform from Asociatia Dastina Strabuna from Oradea. The Bulgarians will be mainly 1877-78 Ruso-Turkish war and a few reenacting the Balkan War 1913. More I don't know at this moment.

The reenactors from Asociatia Datina Strabuna of Oradea will reenact transylvanian volunteers in romanian ww1 army, from the 3rd volunteers regiment Avram Iancu. More about the history of transylvanian volunteers at http://enciclopediaromaniei.ro/wiki/Corpul_Voluntarilor_Ardeleni and about ADS at http://6dorobanti.ro/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1195927051/0

Would someone please take a photo of the 88mm FLAK outside? The one painted in blue smile.gif From close range, it doesn't seem very scary, although it was (rightfully, IMO) considered amongthe best weapons of WW2.

Cute! That was the reenactment? (In this field, I guess we could take some lessons from the Americans - their short history is so honoured with reenactments - usually of the Civil War, but from what I've understood, not only!)
Back on topic, it would be so nice for those of us who weren't there to also describe it a little - or give us a link to something... tongue.gif

Cristian was missing today...

On the last pic one can see one oficer and three ranks from 3rd transylvanian volunteer Regiment Avram Iancu from romanian army in ww1, reenacted by volunteers from Asociatia Datina Strabuna from Oradea, just minutes before their historical presentation and battle reconstruction with blank ammo using ww1 stile infantry rifles.

BTW, does anybody know whether the Russians have also reenactors?
smile.gif or they just invade some other smaller countries if needed smile.gif
I don't recall seeing anything else except military parades - huge, nevertheless!

Posted by: 21 inf May 15, 2009 02:38 pm
Yes, MMM, russians also have their reenactors.

I commend all who participated in this museum event, the photos are great , you must remember events like this inside city limits are tough to pull off due to limited space. Here in the U.S. we have a lot more freedom to acquire all the cool toys to reenact with, and a lot of open space where to use them without upsetting too many of the unsuspecting public with the sounds of rifle fire.
