Gentlemen, This year, on 1st of December, Romania celebrates the most important moment from her history, the Great Union, the moment when in 1918 all Romanians decided to be one state. The Proclamation of Union was given at Alba Iulia in the front of a mass of more than 100.000 Romanians from all over the country and mainly from Transylvania. This year, "Datina Strabuna" Association from Oradea, together with their brother in arms from "6 dorobanti" Association from Bucharest, will be at Alba Iulia on 1st of December, celebrating this very important moment from romanian history. In the front of the Union Hall (Sala Unirii) we'll present the honour to the oficialities. We'll be dressed in ww1 uniforms, representing the romanian army from that era. We invite you to take part to this great Romanian celebration. For all Romanians, from all around the world, a warm "Long live, Romania!" |

Congratulations for your actions. As time passes, people concerned with everyday life tend to forget what such festivities mean. However, I cannot stop thinking of this veteran's saying, regarding first World War 1: "war is organized murder" before adding at a memorial event last month: "It was not worth it. It was not worth one, let alone all the millions [dead]" http://www.cnn.com/2008/WORLD/europe/11/11/world.war.one.armistice/ |
