Catching the sun upon an Opel Blitz... but: wath SSA, as crearly displayed on the side door, means ? "Serviciul/sectia de siguranta/securitate al/a Armatei" perhaps? (nu stiu... imi dau doar cu presupusul) something as.. the military police today, maybe? |

SSA = Subsecretariatul de Stat al Aerului (the State's Under-secretariat of the Air). |

Thaks Denes. So they were not army personal then. I asume then that those guys were part of the auxiliar personal of the ARR, responsible with the daily maintenance of an airport and planes or for surveillance and guarding duty's. I am a little bit surprised of their equipment wearing the name of Subsecretariatul de stat al aerului instead of that of the ARR. It's like today: instead of police or gendarmerie it will be written "minister of internal affairs"... |
