Recently, several wargraves of Hungarian soldiers were found in Ukraine, in Galicia. One of the deceased soldiers is named Simon Kimpian, who was probably of Rumanian origin (Simion Câmpian?): http://www.hirado.hu/Hirek/2012/06/09/17/Otven_masodik_vilaghaborus_magyar_honved_foldi_maradvanyait_talaltak.aspx?source=hirkereso [in Hungarian] Gen. Simon Kimpian indeed sounds romanian, could be a Simion Câmpean or Câmpian. I met this name frequently in Bihor and related areas from Arad. |

Were the locals aware of them, or they were discovered during an architectural job or during some installation of underground electric or gas feeders? |
