Does anyone knows something about a ww2 batalion ( vanatori de munte ) from Codlea. They fought in Odessa, from 1000 men returned 8. One was my grand grand father and an other his brother in low. My grand grand father was decorated with the Military Virtute 2 cls. If you know something please help me.

No mountain troops (vanatori de munte) fought at Odessa. Are you sure he was in the mountain troops?

That makes more sense. I believe he was part of the 3rd Mountain Battalion (1st Mountain Brigade/Division), which was supposedly stationed in the Brasov area.
