I known it's not German but that is how it's called to differentiate these helmets from the ones with normal Dutch liner, the liner is similar to the leather part on the German liner.

ADMIS = ACCEPTED

The stamp is applied on some Romanian equipment items made in WWII and after.

hi Mihnea,
i didn't know that the leather piece of the "german" liner that is atached to the helmet with the 7 rivets is actualy the same as the dutch helmets. i thougt that it was made from metal just like the german helmets. are there any romanian helmets with this piece made of metal or are they all leather? i once had a german m40 with a unit stamp on the liner. it was: 12.aufkl.gr., meaning 12th recce group.
best regards.

Hello Mihnea,

I understand now what you mean by German liner. I never realised they produced this mix of Dutch and German liners.

I have also seen Dutch/Romanian helmets with the metal ring.

I found out that from 1940 onwards the Germans received Dutch helmet shells and made these up for Romania. The company B&C (in Litzmannstadt, now Lwow) was responsible for the production of the new liners and for spraiyng the helmets in the German steel/gray colour.

Still, I wonder why there is an opening on the front in this German type liner. Why was it not not closed like in the German M35/42?

Rgards,
Emile

I have discovered that one of my m34 dutch helmets has the manufacturers mark stamped on the "forehead" of the liner (dutch liner)

QUOTE (mihnea @ April 13, 2007 02:33 pm)
Today I have accidentally uncovered a "ADMIS" stamp on the interior of the liner on my Dutch helmet with German interior.

The marking is clearly visible as the hors hair pad has been eaten by moths (only one of the three pads survived).

Has anyone else ever seen this marking on the German liner?

Well, again another interesting discovery on another of my m34 dutch helmets from romanian use.
It is the "ADMIS" (accepted) stamp and the stamp with liner size.

And a beautiful example of a romanian royal acceptance mark, stamped on the inner dome of my m34 dutch helmet, the one with royal badge.

I found an other example of this stamp on a Dutch M27.

This looks like a communist era paint job for a dutch m34 helmet with german interior. It also seems like the original paint was entirely stripped off before the repaint was done.
I am not sure but the paint under the leather interior looks original.
Take a look around the leather liner, maybe you will find a stamp or some makers mark.

I agree with you; also the chinstrap is communist.

I'm glad that at least the shell and the leather from interior are originals...

With the Romanian/Dutch helmets, are they one size fits all like US models or specific like the German helmets of WWII?

Yes there is a single size, so probably reenactors with small heads will find them uncomfortable.

PS Please e-mail me if you have some news from Paul.
