Razvan Bujor it's one of the best scale modeller in Romania. His models are displayed in Henry Coanda airport, Aviation Museum Otopeni, Military National Museum and so on. He had from his father Constantin Bujor a huge collection of aviation pictures from WWI and WWII .

Below a picture IAR 80's from 4th FG scramble at Targsor airfield in summer '43 ( could be 1st august )

Below is a post found on another forum, related to Tidal Wave.
I don;t have my references handy at the moment. Perhaps someone has the details.

During raid on Ploesti one damaged B-24 have found it way to Yougoslavia. It crashed in region of Konavle, (Close to town of Dubrovnik, and Boka Kotorska- bay of Kotor) some 2 Km from Adriatic sea. There was at least 5 survivers.
Could anyone help with more information about identity of plane?.

My father was a member of Halpro's group and arrived at Ramat David ( today Israeli Air Foce Base) in 1942. He may have participated in the Halpro raid on Ploiesti. He was in the 98th BG 415 SQ. His memory is poor these days as he's pushing 85. He flew the high road to Ploiesti but may not have flown Tidal-Wave. I can find no reference to him in crew rosters for that raid. He was an FE and flew in several aircraft. Floogie-Boo, Lil-D-Icer, Dasy Mae to name a few. He crash landed in the desert and was injured in 1943. He walked out of the desert 13 days later. I am sure he was part of the ground effort to prepare the Tidal-Wave aircraft. He flew 50 Missions in the MTO and went to the pacific with B29's in 1945. He was discharged as a Master Sargent in 1946. My father's name is Adam Genga. Is anyone from the 415th still out there and does anyone remember him? He has an amazing photo album of Bengazi and the 415th aircraft. Can anyone help?

Hi Alex& Dan ,

This is nice looking profile, that is no doubt based on the picture of
the Margie aircraft that appears in Mike Hill's Black Sunday book.
There remains some mystery about this aircraft, its appearance
(especially the large national insignia) in particular. Below is part
of a thread we discussed in 2002.

Chris Gregg ---

=============================================
"Regarding, Margie in particular, I don't have any source other than
Black Sunday by Hill to link the 42-41007 serial to the Margie name.

George, your question about the 98th BG re-painting this aircraft to
desert colors is an interesting one. It would have been a quick paint
job (between July 19 and August 1). I don't know how well the groups
were setup for painting whole aircraft either. On my Ploesti
Aircraft Roster I have 42-41007 listed as Olive Drab, based on the
assumption that the aircraft came from England, and was in North
Africa such a short time, that it was probably still OD on August 1st,
but that is purely assumption.

Another possibility, is that this aircraft was desert colored even in
England, but that seems unlikely to me. I don't think the England
based BG's knew they were giving up some of those new aircraft until
they arrived in Bengasi. It would be interesting to see the IARC
(Individual Aircraft Record Card) for this serial. That might show
that this aircraft passed through a mod center that prepared aircraft
for North Africa - I am not familiar with which mod centers did what,
but Al Blue and others on this list could assist with this part if we
can find the card."

Thanks,

Chris
