They look like soldiers of the Guard Division, possibly of the division's recon group. It could very well be a Soviet airman.

Dragos despite the photos is being grussam, this can not be of an american airman, due to the leftovers of the uniform style and the seat retention system which doesnt look much american to me

Alex, the flying gear you posted looks identical with the one of the dead US airman ! Just look at the round buckler where the four belts joins, or the metal clips of the belts coming vertically from the shoulders. |

I see the variations, but the dead pilot suit looks identical with the first picture you posted, the one "as per 1943 US ARMY AIR CORPS stand.equipment book"
Had the Soviet pilots the same belt layout ? |

Dragos is still hard to say, partially some gunners hat it , also fighter pilots , russians had a lot of parachute torso harnesses donated by uncle sam...so it will be more useful to know the location where the airman remains were cpllected

Me and Dan Melinte (aka Cantacuzino) went to a trip to Doftana river today
After a while of debates we start to figure things out, a few locals helped us whit somme general information. Here is a photo when we discovered the background of one of the crashing libartors (there were 2 crashed in verry near one from another).
