This is a rare early model by Carl Eickhorn. The blade is stamped DAMAST, but it was nickeled over during production as occasionally was done. The internal parts are numbered. Handle is celluloid over wood. Excellent Condtion. What else can you guys tell me about it? Who wore it, when and any thing else.

Interesting dagger. An aviation dagger in the Naval style. Probably late 20's. You think it might be for a Seaplane Naval Pilot, but the blade has transport planes on it.

Carl Eickhorn, Solengen, Germany supplied many swords and daggers to the Romanian military. This firm sometimes imported Toledo blades to fill some of the demand. I have swords that are stamped Carl Eickhorn and some stamped Toledo. I also have examples of swords stamped with both markings. This is the first time I have seen a dagger with both Eickhorn and Toledo markings. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for your remarks on this dagger. I am trying to contact the museums in Romania to see if anyone would like to see this piece return to its homeland.
When Tom Johnson bought the full inventory of Carl Eickhorn in the 1980's two of these crossguards were found. Only now do we know what they are.
