Djuvara - The 77 years' war, The last book of Neagu Djuvara

Have you read the last book of Neagu Djuvara (93 years old and still researching in the archives!)? It is about a fascinating theory of his, that every civilization has a period of ascension etc etc - I don't want to spoil it. Among other things, it has a quite short (yet accurate) history of ww2.
Care to comment on it?

I haven't read the book so I can't comment it, but I've seen its contents and read a couple of descriptions and I don't find it very interesting or novel.

It is a 144-page essay that bundles together WW1, WW2 and the Cold War into a single 77-year war/conflict. He briefly describes each conflict and in the end he makes his own predictions about the American hegemony.

He dedicates only 15 pages to describing the fascinating theory you mention, the bulk of the book briefly describing historical events we are already familiar with. I find that disappointing. Add that to the fact that the theory of different phases of civilizations is not new at all (ascension, peak, decline) and I'm not really eager to read it.

It's less than 144 pages AND it's not that clear as you'd think: some of his ideas transpare from the entire book (booklet?). I'm sure it has not many "novel" things, but it is interesting. Don't you remember how immense are the books regarding theory of civilizations? The essay is short and to the point!
