After an ultimatum addressed to Romania on November 30th 1941, in which the UK was demanding Romania to stop the hostilities against the USSR until 5 December, marshal Antonescu answered that Romania "was engaged in a war for the defense of her integrity, provoqued by the Soviet agression of 1940". On December 7th 1941, Romania declared war on England.

On 7 December 1941, England declared war on Romania, not vice versa!
