Maybe Regina Maria who died on 18 July 1938? The photos are dated January 1938, but judging by the last photo captioned "King Carol II playing with his dogs." judging by the leaves on the ground, the photos appear to have been taken in late summer or early autumn. Radu |

Another one.
I'm realy sick with that way of posting. For the last two years posting photos is only a dream for me. Why it works for me in other forums and in this not? This post has been edited by Victor on July 01, 2009 07:57 pm |

I tried last night for hours to embed the photos in the post, but it was not possible. The software said that in order to embed a picture in the post, the image had to end in .jpg
If you go to the LIFE archive at www.life.com and search for any photo, they will give you a thumbnail first in a .jpg format (that can be emvedded), but when you click on it and enlarge it, it is a format that the software of this forum does not recognise and right-click is disabled. So, I tried... Radu |

I believe you, but these pictures do not appear in the on-line archives. It appears that only a part of their archive is there.
The on-line archives are available to everyone at www.life.com There is a mountain of stuff there. Here is the entire archive about "Romania 1900-1950" http://www.life.com/search/?type=images&da...950&q0=Romania+ Plenty of good stuff. Particulalry interesting is the series of photographs with the members of the Tatarascu government in 1938 - look at their uniforms. Radu |
