See that last Romanian badge down to the right? It is a communist one, having the obvious eagle of any pilot badge... But look closer to the dates on the shield!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

1941-1981

What it represents?

The logic I would follow: What military unit was created in 1941 and was still a unit of the Romanian Army in 1981?

Did any military discipline start its existence in the Romanian Army since 1941? Did we have paratroops before 1941?

Also, the IAR-80 became operational in 1941. Good reason for a commemoration...

Well, we are still in the fog...

Florin

But in Romanian historiography, 1941 is assimilated as the year of the "Crusade against bolshevism"! biggrin.gif

Talking of eBay, does anyone know the identity and perhaps the contact address of 'regele-mihai'? He is located somewhere in Rumania...

Initially I also thought that he is our Japanese colleague, Mihai. I contacted him, but he denied it.
Checking the location of 'regele-mihai', it's given: 'Romania', since March 25, 2003:

I think you can change your location when changing your ID... "regele-mihai" was ex-"lathanders" (located in Japan), a few months ago...

Anyway!
