North Korea’s young new leader, Kim Jong-un, has instituted a novel method of executing military officers — mortar firing squad, South Korea’s leading daily newspaper reported Tuesday.

The 20-something Mr. Kim ordered a military officer to be executed in a way that would leave “no trace of him behind, down to his hair,”

When I read the title, I though they used "mortar firing squad" to kill a big number of people in the same time, not one person.
Remember the "Khmer Rouge" - Cambodia ? They used a plastic bag over the head of the victim to suffocate him/her, in order to save a bullet.

1. It's quite old news (March 2012) - and AFAIK mortars aren't that accurate as to guarantee the "traceless" execution!
2. It seems to me quite stoopid and useless, from the cycle "Ce face Dorel când n-are ce face" ("What one does when one has nothing to do")... but then again communism tends to imbecilize people, so we can excuse them.
3. Alcohol kills! biggrin.gif

Considering that North Korea is closed to outsiders, all of this can be pure fabrication. For example, you can write a similar article in which you state that North Korea carries out executions by forced kitten-huffing and no one can contrardict you or double-ckeck it. biggrin.gif
