I heard something about second hand Gripens (A version), something like 70-80 pcs. because of reduction of Swedish Air force. Meybe it`s them.

Thanks for replys. I asked if he is a pilot, because if he is there are more chances to understand the needs and to fight to obtain better equipments/planes for his coleaguess - pilots. And flyng on different types he can see with his eyes who is better for our needs.
You guys know about Grippen and not Falcons from official sources or just rumors? Iama |

I still hope for even 2nd hand F16 in place of new Gripens. Can't get enough of that plane.

Both F-16 and F-18 are much more costly to operate as the Gripen, at least double for the flight hour. Another thing is the posibility to use the Gripen like Sweden in case of war, trough dispersion and use of strips of roads. The F-16 can`t do this, perhaps the F-18 with his aeronaval ancestry can... The probability is that in war the oponent (like always in our history) will be more in numbers, so dispersal is esential for the survival of our air force.

But when for 150 mil. we get a lot of F-16, and we give them the ACE upgrade, than maybe is a solution for let`s say 10 years, and we can than afford to wait and buy what`s best on the market at that time. Hopefully the cash available will be much more then.
 Or maybe we can buy then some 2nd hand Eurofighters or so... |
