These are my german canteens.
No1 and no2 are marked, no3 is completely unmarked. All three of them were in romanian use.
Here are some detailed photos.

No 2.

Maker's mark is DMN 41, on the cup, cap body and strap. A nice example!

German canteens are marked generally in 5 different places and when they left the factory all the markings coincided.
The markings can be found on the:
- Neck of the canteen;

- Top of the cork;

- Canteen cup (between the handles);

- Leather strap (on the inside of the strap that holds the strap);

- Felt cover.

Sometimes on the attachment hookon the early ones.

But as the war progressed some components were not marked (especially the strap and the felt but also the cork).

Well, you are right! I have jus checked the felt cover and here is what I have found:
DMN 41 stamp on one side and Ku.B on the other side. Do you know what Ku.B stands for?

Another beautiful canteen, this time with bakelite cap.
Marked HJB 42 on the cup, neck of the canteen and felt coverbut not on the cap. No attaching hook though, it seems that it was intentionally removed.
