Tomorrow will be 100 years since Serbanescu was born. Last october I found something new about him in Military Archives. He was proposed for Mihai Viteazul Order II-nd Class by Gen. Emanoil Ionescu few weeks before his dead. Did not received, I'm thinking, because of 23 august 1944.
I'll publish soon the document |

Or probably the proposal for M.V. Order was changed with Virtutea Aeronautica Officer Class. In Official Gazette of Romania no. 251/29.10.1944 is published the Royal Decree no. 1821/6.10.1944 where Serbanescu is awarded with : " Clasa: Prima si a Doua Bareta la Cavaler si clasa Ofiter".
In the book of Dan Stoian , "Pumnul Tarii" are published the normes of awarding for Aeronautical Virtue Order . http://transylvanian-numismatics.com/phpBB...d1fc3cf2c981dd3 This post has been edited by Mihai Popteanu on May 17, 2012 05:31 pm |
