According to a comment by Mr./Ms.(?) A. Curdov to an article in Jurnalul Naţional, there was one further Romanian medal established during WWII: the Winter Campaign Medal. The medal had two classes, first class in silvered bronze for the officers and second class in bronze for the troop. Mr./Ms.(?) Curdov further states that the first/only batch of medals was sent to Stalingrad.

Do you have any further details about this medal?

When was it instituted?

What was the decree number that described it?

How did it look like?

Neither did I. But did anyone hear about it? On the other hand, could it be just a hoax?

There was indeed a project for such a medal but i think it only had one class. It wasn't oficially instituted but some trials were produced.

Do you have a description of how it was supposed to look like?

I have a picture but its quality is too bad to post it. It featured the Wallachian eagle flying through a blizzard on the front and the text "Campania de iarna" on the reverse.

I can't, the pic is bad and if i make a photo after it you won't see anything. But i will try to find an original one and make a decent photo.
