December 1989 was a tumultuous periode with reportedly on 24th at least four losses of helikopters.
Who can provide with more information about identity of the helikopters, the crew, the location and circumstances. One IAR330 came down near Alba Iulia, where exact? There should be some monument with crew names!? One IAR 330 crashed near or at Titi airfield. Another escaped destruction. Another IAR330, number 89, when checking some other strange helikopters was shot down by a Mig-21. Is there a monument? One IAR316 was shot down or crashed, where, who was the crew, which unit or number? One other IAR316 crew was shot (in his leg?)and landed somewhere near Craiova-Bucuresti road? How many helikopters were damaged by gunfire in total and repaired later? Was IAR330 number 76 repaired that was damaged near MeKa? Jeroen |

Thanks Hadrian
I had only Tom Coopers excellent article in 2003 version, did not know he had rewritten it and added new information. Can anyone add more to that? Jeroen |
