Hi, I have been trying to gather data on the Norwegian 6.5cm Bergkanon m/1897, this what I have up to now;
6.5cm Bergkanon m/1897 Design: Finspong Type: Light Mountain Gun Amount: Year: 1887 Calibre: 65mm L/18 Weight: 95 kg Elevation: -° to +° Traverse: ° Shell Weight: 6.5 kg Muzzle Velocity: 350 m/s Rate of Fire: r.p.m. Maximum Range: 3.000m Crew: Traction: Horse Drawn As you can see I need the amount in service in 1940, elevation/traverse, rate of fire and crew. Can anyone please help; I have tried the various Norwegian sites, but no luck. Regards Ian. |

Dear Colleague YAN,
I think you described this weapon. The Norwegian Internet figures this photo and a brief description of the use for WWII. Photographs with text in Norwegian: Generalmajor Engelbrecht sjef Infanteridivisjon 163 (med høy lue) og Oberst Adloch sjef IR 236 (med båtlue bøyd over kanonen) studerer en norsk 65 mm norsk bergkanon. Simplified translation: Major-General Engelbrecht (ID 163) and Colonel Adloch (IR 236) view the captured Norwegian 65mm gun mountain gun.
