As far as I know, the tomb stones of ww1 german and hungarian soldiers from that church in Cisnadioara were brought from the cemeteries from the area were those soldiers were buried. Part of them felt in battles against romanian army in Sibiu area.
I dont rem exactly the reason why the tombstones were brought to the church and were not let on the cemeteries. |

The tombstones are from a cemetery situated on one of the hills of Sibiu, Dealul Gushteritzei. The cemetery was loceted where now is still visible the Falkenhayn Tower.
The crosses and tombstones were brought at Cisnadioara Church in 1940, by the local saxons (German Ethnic Group), and the old church became a memorial for the ones who died in Sibiu Battle, at 1916. Remarcable is that is one of the less unchanged german ww2 style monument. |
