Did anyone of you ever heard of a Secretary/Commitee from 1942 named "Undersecretary for Combating the Concealed Jews Fortunes and the propagation of Romanism" ?

No, but there was Subsecretariatul de Stat al Romanizarii, Colonizarii si Inventarului

My documents are refering indeed to this organism (my translation to English was indeed faulty, mea culpa).

But they also make references to a commitee called:

"The commitee for combating the camouflaging of Jewish goods, rights and interests and for repression of the Sabotage of the Romanisation process".

It is a posibility that some kind of organisation of that type to exist, because it was sometime the practice that jews "sold" their businesses to romanians, but in fact they were still runing their own affairs, paying to the romanian "buyer" some money in order to "camouflage" their business as romanian.

It is the case of Adrian Nastase's grandfather, who, as romanian officer, was detached to Brasov. He "bought" a business from some jew, but actually that particular hebrew just sold on paper the business to a romanian, Nastase's granfather just receveing some money from that businessman in order to keep silence and show the affair as a romanian one to the auhorities.

There was also "Centrul National de Romanizare" (National Center for Rumanization), established in the Summer of 1941.

Also, another national institution was "Comisa de Romanizare" (Commission for Rumanization), established also in 1941.

Try to find a book by Radu Lecca,called "Eu i-am salvat pe evreii din Romania "ed.Roza Vanturilor,1994. Between, 1941 and 1944 he was "comisar general pentru probleme evreesti",later imprisoned,taken to Moscow,togther with Antonescu,judged and spent the rest of his life in prison ( ? )His memories somehow survived,and,allthough "pro domo"shed interesting light on the matter.

Lecca was released in the 60s. That's when wrote his memoirs

N.Steinhard,in "Jurnalul fericirii"recalls his meeting with R. Lecca,in prison,in late fifties or early sixties.Interesting episode.
