Two days ago ,veteran Me 110 pilot ,Axente Titus-died age 85 at Sf Pantelimon hospital.
To us (Victor,Melinte and me) he was very kind and we were always welcomed to his house.
He was in good shape and his sudden illness came to me as a suprise.
Let him rest in peace!

Unfortunatly, when we first interviewed Titus Axente,he first didn,t wanted to be taped. The first part was the most interesting.
He told us some interesting things about the Me 110,including an accident he had.

In lieu of a better thread, I post here a sad news.

Comandor av. ® dr. eng. SIXTUS NICOLAE MAXIM, veteran Savoia bomber pilot, former prisoner of war in the USSR, president of 'Asociatia Aviatorilor Brasoveni', has passed away. A short bio: http://www.worldwar2.ro/arr/p039.htm
The funeral will be hold today, Feb. 18, in Brasov.

Last ARR long reco pilot Ju 88 -Ionescu Gabriel died in Brasov.
RIP.

I am very sorry to hear the news.

I knew Mr. Ionescu personally, from the time I was living in Brasov, we also kept correspondence for a while.

He was a real gentleman and shared with me many interesting stories from his pilot career.

May he rest in peace, indeed.
