Because it is in a fresh-water lake, this will be worth recovering. Chances are that the metal parts are not as corroded as if they were in saltwater. I doubt that it is only 90% damaged. That is very repairable. If it was worth salvaging, they would have pulled it out during the war and at least use it for spares if it could not be repaired. There are also some He114 there. Radu |

Taking into consideration the absimal amount of preserved ww2 aircraft parts in Romania anything would be more than valuable i'd say. Maybe we can dream of a "full" wreck to pop up either from one of the lakes or maybe the Black Sea.

Sea water is really bad news for aluminium. I had the chance to see planes pulled out of the sea and they cannot be restored. There is a wing of a Bf.109G2 pulled out of the sea in the Aviation Museum. It is like Swiss cheese.
But this Savoia is in fresh water and that is good news. Radu |

Good point.  The pieces found in the lake are all made of metal not wood. Anyone could identify the plane from the picture below link ?
