Dr. Lucian Boia is a History Professor, currently teaching at the Bucharest University. He is one of the few Rumanian historians who consequently publishes outside Rumania, particularly in France.

Sublocotenente Dénes! Very interesting ; why is he one the few Rumanian historians? What interests are behind his "history" books?

When you (we) cannot answer some questions (or not dare?), than it's useless to engage in endless debates!

When giving details on Dr. Boia's career, I merely quoted from the aforementioned book's introduction.

If I do not know the answer to a (hypothetical) question, I rather clearly admit it instead of speculating based on incomplete, or half truths.
My knowledge is limited.

I know very well who Boia is. He has a diploma in history alright and he teaches at University but historian he is not. He is just another Cioroianu with just a little more care for details (well, or his “negres” take care). He will be considered an important (or at least honest) historian the day Cioroianu will become president.

The comparison with Roller is perfectly justified. Boia doesn’t study history, he “bends” history to serve his purposes. And he is not the only one. Just being part of the Zoe Petre’s “death squad” that encroached itself inside the University’s history faculty is anything but a credential.

Proto-communists ? What’s that ? Older than Lenin ? Or was it just a slip of the tongue.

Don’t be so itchy about Boia and the like. Those who want to know Romania’s history will discard him quickly and those who have just a flimsy interest will never hear of him anyway.
