I have been searching for a few pieces on the Rumanian Army and literally stumbled on this site.
My name is Vince, and I am from England. Just wanted to say hello, and say what an excellent website this is. Absolutely priceless to someone like me where information on the Armata Romana ? (Is that correct) is extremely hard to come by in print unless you want to spend a heavy amount. My interest in the Rumanian / Romanian / Roumanian ? (what is the preferred spelling these days?) army comes from not only a historical interest in Military matters, but also from wargames. Initially Squad Leader, but now the Panzer Grenadier system. Just recently, using the Panzer Grenadier board game, we fought the battle of Fantana Alba (23/6/41), where I had command of the 2nd Calarasi Regt. This stimulated my interest more (especially after they brought me victory) and so, I found this site. I look forward to learning much more about these matters. Vince |

Hallo Vince,
welcome to the Forum, there are some knowledgeable blokes on here but don't be to disheartened if it takes a while to answer any questions, lots of old threads to read up on as well. I am originally from outside Nottingham, but was raised in Ireland, Ex-Irish Army & UN Service, took the pension and now I am established in Transylvania. All the best, Kevin in Deva. |

Kevin.
Thanks for the welcome. Served in the British Army myself, 82-86, but now work in the Met Police in London with just 6 and a bit years to retirement Never been to Romania, I guess the nearest I got to Transylvania would be Hungary (do they still have any Hungarians there ?). As well as the subject threads, the pictures are many I hav'nt seen before on the main body of the thread. Looking forward to many reads and learning a lot more about the Romanian Army in WWII.
