A mysterious ampoule in a case gunner ZB30?

Hello! Tell me what kind of ampulla was found in the leather case, along with other tools for the machine gun ZB 30. What's the white substance in a little cup? Thanks in advance.

Very starnge to put some maintaines matrial into an amplula.
It breaks easily and it can also cause cuts.

Automatic weapons are very maintenance intensive weapons. Normally they should be cleaned and oiled every time they are fired, and periodically even if not used.
Every new weapon is delivered from depot normaly with a cleaning kit included.

The Ampoule should also contain some cleaning/lubricated fluid. When you issue these things by millions, costs are important. Probably the ampoule was anyway originally packed in a cardboard of some kind, and kept in the leather case, so not so risky to break and cut, though it will stain the gunner`s uniform if it leaks...

I'm aware of the written above,but never heard of an ampula in a cleaning kit.
Very dificult to apply the substance also.
Maybee NCR can put some light .

I just spoke now with a doctor and also collector and confimed me that the glass dose is for antibiotic. The glass dose contains the antibiotic(white powder) and the solvent(tranparent liquid).
Oil kit were made from steel not glass...consider that the machine gun servant had to crowl...

Yes, we can assume that in the ampoule anesthetic (Novocain) or saline - in an amount not less than 20 ml to dissolve the powder is in an open cup. The form of the cup perfectly coincides with the tip of the ampoule (as she was found with the powder in a glass ampoule). I do not think that the powder is an antibiotic - antibiotics were used only to active 1944-45 year.

The fashion the ampoule is closed at one end (the long and tipped one) is specifical to medicine. The seal is made with fire to preserve the content sterile. I am doctor and in laboratories we used to seal testtubes and ampoules in this manner. What is inside I dont know. I dont know if it's antibiotic or antigas stuff or something else. Anyway, what is inside could be dangerous after so many years and a rule in medicine is that if dont know what is inside, you dont play with it!!! Take care!!!

This vial was found in a leather briefcase machine gunner, dressing packs found in the medicine chest - first aid kit was a metal box, which is almost completely destroyed, with the bandages, you see, in surprisingly good condition!
I looked like vials of medicine, but to no avail ......
