Romanian impression at Stalingrad

In the romanian army uniform was made in cloth but during hot weather only the summer tunics, made in cotton, were worn… The cap and trousers were usually in cloth but there were also exceptions.

As far as I can see from your photos, the cut of the tunic seems OK except the cuffs which are of the shirt type. Usually the Romanian army cuffs were pointed. The puttees should be of the same fabric as the trousers. I would suggest a lighter shade of kaki for the tunic as it was often washed and became discoloured.

I cannot see the field cap, if it has the traditional double peaks. The “rosette” that fasten the flaps of the cap indicates a cavalryman.

As concerns the equipment it seems to be OK. Congratulations! However take care… You should carry the entrenching tool and the bayonet on the left hip, and the bread bag and mess tin on the right hip.

What kind of rifles are you using during your show?

I know about cuffs. But it as a temporary variant of a uniform, yet we shall not find the necessary uniform. Inhabitants of Volgograd absolutely badly know, that in Stalingrad the Romanian soldiers were at war. Now they began to learn a little. On reconstruction we use the weapon from the ground, we give them the second life. Our Romanians while without the weapon. They as artillerists on gun Pak 35/36. In Future we plan to give them Mausers of the Czech manufacture.
