Friends, there is information about fights of russian Wermacht corps with Romanian Royal Army in sept 1944:
On the 4th of sept 1944 four section of the 3rd company of the 2nd regiment and two sections of a heawy platoon (the commander is leutenant Yamburghtsev),crossed the Danube to the Romanian bank?attacked the village of Svintsy, deblocatedandprotected the evacuation of german AAD submit 17 guns,to the serbian bank (in Donya-Milowats). They took 38 captives. Sept 8 - the landing again andthe occupation of Swintsy. They captured 3 guns and 4 heavy machine guns. The information is taken from the emmigrants book "The notebook of the 2nd regiment" whichwas written on the basement of the regiments battle register,Donya-Milowats is a town on the Danube, not far from Maydanpeck, accordingly Swintsy( as ive understood),must be situated opposite it.As there any information about those battles in Romanian books. And Im interested in information about the the situation around the village in aug-sept 1944. Or any facts about the german anti-asrcraft submit launched there? This post has been edited by ronnie on February 01, 2015 12:12 pm |
