There was an article two years ago in AFM where it was shown the Lancer firing a Magic. I don't know which one,but I guess it was Magic 2. Reporters were Romanians.

There's no secret:
On http://cssas.unap.ro/ro/publicatii/carti/romania-nato_en.pdf on chapter "Ongoing major acquisition programs", on page 67 check article 9 :
9. IR Auto-guided air-air Missiles complex, with short range, MAGIC-2.
The aims of the program are the following:
• integration of the missile to modern armament system of MiG-21
LANCER, NATO compatible;
• integration trough LM-52-M2 modernised launcher, in enslavement
mode to the DASH helmet, to the airborne radar or to any other
system designated to locate the target on board of any kind of
multi-role aircraft from new generation;
• compatibility with aircraft's which are in service in some NATO
member countries, and the LM-52-M2 modernised launcher will
allow the integration of the missile on any kind of battle aircraft
from new generation.

Also on http://www.frstrategie.org/barrePortail/in...def/indest2.php you'll find:
AEROFINA
avionics, research, designing, manufacture and testing of control systems, test and ground equipment, Missile launchers for MAGIC 2 missile ; Acquisition and recording system for flight data and voice ; Ejector seats

More, on http://www.nti.org/e_research/profiles/Ira.../3879_4036.html it is written:
1996
The Iraqi military upgrades some of its 12 French F-1 Mirage fighter aircraft by adding the substantially improved Magic 2 air-to-air missiles. [NOTE: Romanian company Aerofina manufactures the Magic 2 missiles, and Aerofina contracted with Iraq to supply it with short-range missile components.]
--Lisa Hoffman, "Diminished Iraqi Military Still Capable of Missile Strikes," The Washington Times, 14 November 1998, p. A8.

Edited for corrections.

IR Auto-guided air-air Missiles complex, with short range, MAGIC-2.
The aims of the program are the following:
• integration of the missile to modern armament system of MiG-21
LANCER, NATO compatible; and as you can see it says the aim.Yeah even the us stated that their aim is to develop airborn lasers for atbm tasks but you havent seen when the jet was first comissioned,year of development etc.
You cna see that that is teh typical wooden language that the oficcials apply around weapon deals.
We are talking here about transparency on weapons deals because the tax payers would be happy to know on what theyr money is spent,dont you think so.

The taxpayers are reluctant to spend on weapons given the general situation of the country. Bragging publicly about weapons deals is political suicide.
