I have found a reference suggesting that Radu Korne was made head of a special detachment of the SSI that reported directly to King Carol II providing information on Carol's potential political rivals or opponents, said appointment being made either in conjunction to his promotion to lieutenant colonel in 1934 or sometime afterwards. Because of this, Korne earned the enmity, or at least distrust, of Ion Antonescu and was therefore slated for early retirement in late 1940. However, official sources make no mention of Korne working with SSI, while his military postings seem uninterrupted for the 1940-1941 period. Has anyone ever heard of Korne ever performing such duties for King Carol II?
