Hello!
I know that this Regiment was in Oituz valley , more precisely in Poiana Sarata (Sosmezo) in september 1917, but I would like to know the Divisoin and group it belonged, if iti is possible. The photo I have uploaded was taken by a soldier from this Regiment near the romanian border in Poiana Sarata (Sosmezo). Can anyone tell me what is that thing I pointed to with the arrow? Are electric wires or what? The image is hosted here: http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/99/ashepard.gif/ Thanks a lot!A shepard This post has been edited by ciprianhugianu on February 23, 2012 06:37 am |

According to information I have found here: http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/225._Division..._Kaiserreich%29 and also from a german ww1 forum, the 373 IR was part, since its establishment in August 1915, of the 89th Infantry Division (German Reich) in 1916 and of the 225th Infantry Division (German Reich) in 1917, so in september 1917 he was part of this major unit. As part of this division, the 373 IR was involved in the battles for the submountains areas in the western part of Moldova in august 1917. He remained in the Carpathian area of the Oituz pass until november 1917.
